ST. PAUL -- Minnesota lawmakers heard concerns from St. Cloud area business members last (Wednesday) night. The annual Evening at the Capitol event -- hosted by the St. Cloud Area Chamber of Commerce -- took place just a few blocks away from the capitol building.

Nearly 100 business leaders, legislators and city officials were on hand to discuss pressing issues facing the local region. Mayor Dave Kleis says the event offers a chance for lawmakers to hear the concerns of St. Cloud.

Legislators from across the state interacted  with event attendees. St. Cloud Senator, John Pederson says he is encouraged by the connections officials are making with business members.

Governor Mark Dayton was schedule to attend the meeting, but cancelled due to sickness.
