COON RAPIDS (AP) -- Two Good Samaritans who stopped to help an accident victim were seriously injured when they were struck by a vehicle on Highway. 610 in Coon Rapids.

The State Patrol says a 19-year-old Shoreview woman crashed into the center median of eastbound Hwy. 610 near East River Road and came to a halt in the left center lane shortly after midnight Sunday.

64-year-old Clifford Haugen, of Anoka, and 39-year-old Rod Beam, of Mounds View, stopped to help the woman, who the Patrol says appeared to have been drinking. The Patrol says all three were hit by a car driven by a 20-year-old Mounds View woman.

All three victims were listed in critical condition early Sunday, two at North Memorial Medical Center and one at Hennepin County Medical Center.

The Patrol says it's unknown if the woman who hit them been drinking. She and her passenger were not hurt.
