Timberwolves

The Timberwolves defeated the New Orleans Pelicans 110-106 at home Saturday night. Karl-Anthony Towns went off for 27 points and 27 rebounds, Andrew Wiggins added 18 points and Josh Okogie chipped in 17 points for the Wolves.

The Timberwolves lost 119-115 Friday night to the visiting Dallas Mavericks. Minnesota trailed by 11 at halftime but rallied in the 2nd half including outscoring the Mavs by 4 points in the 3rd quarter and by 3 in the 4th.

Multiple reports indicate the Timberwolves have fired team President and head coach Tom Thibodeau. The decision happened just hours after the Wolves won at home against the L.A. Lakers to improve to 19-21. Thibodeau's record in Minnesota was 97-107.

The Timberwolves lost 123-114 Monday night at New Orleans to the Pelicans. Minnesota trailed by 12 at halftime but rallied in the 3rd quarter to lead by 1 after 3 quarters. The Wolves were outscored 35-25 in the 4th quarter.

The Timberwolves lost 112-108 at San Antonio Wednesday night. Minnesota led by 2 entering the 4th quarter only to see the Spurs rally to win. DeMar DeRozan led San Antonio with 28 points and LaMarcus Aldridge had 21 points and 19 rebounds.

The Timberwolves lost a preseason game 128-101 in Los Angeles against the Clippers Wednesday night. Karl-Anthony Towns led the Wolves with 18 points and 7 rebounds, Tyus Jones and Andrew Wiggins each had 12 points and Keita Bates-Diop added 11 points.

Pickup basketball games will soon be a common occurrence on a once tattered St. Cloud court.

The Timberwolves signed 6'7 free agent forward/guard James Nunnally to a 2-year contract. Financial terms of his contract have not been disclosed. Nunnally played the last 2 years in Turkey with Fenerbahce and won a championship with them in 2017.

The Timberwolves saw their season end with a 122-104 loss in Game 5 at Houston to the Rockets. Minnesota led by 4 at the half but were outscored 30-15 in the 3rd quarter and 37-30 in the 4th.

Tonight is a big night for Minnesota sports fans with the Timberwolves and Wild both have big games. The Wolves close the regular season at home against Denver at 7pm tonight, pregame on AM 1390 at 6:30. The winner of tonight's game makes the playoffs while the loser is out.
