Voters all across Minnesota were asked to go to the polls today (Tuesday) to vote in the Primary Election. A small handful of races from school board, to city, to state elections were on the ballot.
Voters in Sauk Rapids will need to follow a detour to get to the Government Center tomorrow (Tuesday). The detour is necessary due to the construction project on County Road 3/2nd Street.
After a day of recounting the ballots yesterday (Tuesday), the last spot in the General Election for the St. Cloud area school board is decided by just one vote.
Tomorrow (Tuesday) is Primary Election day in Minnesota. Most polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Matt Lindstrom is a political science professor at the College of St. Benedict and St. John's University. He says the primary election is about a month early this year.
In the primary election: Sauk Rapids voters narrowed the field of candidates vying for city council seats from five down to four. And in Benton County, the field of candidates competing for County Commissioner in District 5 was cut from three down to two.
Minnesota Secretary of State Mark Ritchie says he's expecting less than 15 percent of eligible voters to participate in the state's primary. Two races to pick primary challengers to members of Congress are considered the most competitive Tuesday.
