A grass fire burned two acres of land in Avon on Wednesday. The Stearns County Sheriff's Office says the incident happened at about 4:45 p.m. at 39603 County Road 151 in Holding Township.
This week's All-Star Student has had an impressive athletic year. Being a state champion in football, and wrestling, this Holdingford senior is looking forward to his baseball season, as well as moving onto collegiate football next fall.
Holdingford Senior Zach Scott has been wrestling for thirteen years, five of which as a member of the varsity squad. Since making varsity during his eighth grade year Scott has been a winning wrestler. During the 2014 Big Bear Wrestling Classic Scott won his 150th match, and still has the rest of the season to keep winning.
In our "Your Town Tuesday" series, this week we're featuring the town of Holdingford. It is a community of just over 700 people. It's named after Randolph Holding. Mayor Ernie Schmit says they're bringing natural gas to town this year. He says it's the biggest initiative for the town in the 12 years he's been the mayor.
Today our "Your Town Tuesday" series takes us to the community of Holdingford. The town has the distinction of having the nation's very first World War II monument. It was dedicated on September 6th, 1942.
This week in our "Your Town Tuesday" series, it's all about Holdingford. The Holdingford school graduated 68 students this past school year. Superintendent Eric Williams says enrollment in the district has remained very steady for several years, with about 70 kids in each grade.
