Shooting In Holdingford

HOLDINGFORD -- The Stearns County Sheriff's Office responded to a shooting early this morning in Holdingford.

Sheriff John Sanner says officers visited 200 3rd Street in Holdingford after receiving a call at 2:17 a.m. stating a man was shot in the abdomen.

Sanner says the victim was flown to North Memorial Hospital for treatment of his wounds.

The suspect, 67-year-old Edwin Vail, was taken into custody from the scene and booked on charges of First Degree Assault, Sanner says.

The incident is still under investigation.
