Vikings Stadium Use Agreement Close to Completion

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A key official says negotiations are likely to be completed next month on a detailed use agreement for the Minnesota Vikings' new stadium.

Chair Michele Kelm-Helgen of the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority said Monday the big issues having to do with rent and concession revenue were already settled in the stadium law passed by the Minnesota Legislature in 2012. But she says the new document will lay out the details and resolve smaller issues.

She says a similar use agreement was in place for the Metrodome.

Kelm-Helgen says once the sports facilities authority votes on the agreement — likely in July — it will be made public.

The Vikings hope to move into the new $975 million stadium for the 2016 season.
