Tri-County Humane Society Pet Patrol: Melon and Aschara
Melon is a 1 ½ year old neutered hound mix that loves attention and playing. He can be a bit rambunctious for kids and would likely do best in a home without them. While he’s technically not a puppy you’d never be able to guess that from his playfulness. Melon’s quite active and loves to play with just about any kind of dog toy. A couple of his favorites are a Kong filled with peanut butter and a rubber ice-cream cone that squeaks. Melon is used to being in crate at night and when left home alone.
Aschara is a seven-year-old spayed cat. Like some other all-white cats with blue eyes, Aschara is deaf. She’s described as being very sweet and mellow. Aschara enjoys being brushed and doesn’t mind being held. Making accommodations for a hearing-impaired pet isn’t difficult. Cats can easily learn to respond to hand signals. Keeping a deaf cat inside is of course the safest option. Her adoption fee would be waived for a senior citizen or veteran.
