Teen Charged in Stabbing Death of St. Cloud Man

ST. CLOUD -- A 16-year-old St. Cloud boy has been charged with second degree unintentional murder.

The Stearns County Attorneys Office has charged Muhiyadin Mohammed Hassan in the death of 20-year-old Davee Devose.

According to court records Hassan and three others were walking by a house at the intersection of 6th Avenue South and 5th Street South early Friday when an argument broke out between Devose and the group. The argument escalated into a fight. That's when police say Devose was stabbed once in the chest with a knife.

Paramedics were unable to revive Devose and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators found the knife about a half block away from the scene and officers were able to track down Hassan in an alley in the 900 block of 5th Avenue South in St. Cloud and arrest him.

Authorities say Hassan confessed to stabbing Devose.

Hassan is being held in a juvenile detention facility as prosecutors work to certify him to stand trial as an adult.
