The National League downed the American League 8-0 Tuesday night in the All Star game in Kansas City. The National League scored 5 runs in the 1st inning off Justin Verlander. Melky Cabrera of the San Francisco Giants was 2-3 with a 2-run homerun to earn MVP honors. Matt Cain of the Giants threw 2 shutout innings to get the win.

The St. Cloud Rox used a balanced attack to beat Willmar 18-5 at Joe Faber Field in St. Cloud Tuesday night. Carlos Lopez led the Rox going 2-4 with 3 runs scored and 1 RBI, Jamie Simpson was 2-3 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBIs and Erik Kozel was 2-2 with a run and 2 RBIs for St. Cloud. Zach Hirsch threw 8 1/3 innings with 9 hits and 4 earned runs allowed to get the win.

Viking running back Adrian Peterson's attorney says he was a victim and a charge of resisting arrest is a "fabrication." Texas attorney Rusty Hardin released a statement Monday, two days after Peterson was released from a Houston jail. Peterson was arrested shortly after 2am Saturday and charged with resisting arrest after he allegedly pushed a off-duty police officer who was working security at the night club.

The Minnesota Wild officially welcomed free agent signees Zach Parise and Ryan Suter at a press conference at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul Monday. Parise and Suter both signed 13-year $98 Million contracts. Parise said at the press conference that both he and Suter wanted to be here and that it all came together as they talked about the possibility Monday and Tuesday of last week. Both agreed to contracts on Wednesday July 4.
