Target Corp. is ending its relationship with celebrity cook Paula Deen as fallout builds from revelations that the Southern celebrity chef used racial slurs in the past. The discounter, based in Minneapolis, says it will phase out its Paula Deen-branded cookware and other items in its stores as well as on Target.com.
Target is having labor pains. Until recently, the Minneapolis-based discounter had avoided the labor disputes that plagued Wal-Mart, the world's largest retailer. But now Target could face the same union opposition as its much bigger rival.
