St. Joseph is considering updating an ordinance that would ban biking and rollerblading on downtown sidewalks. The city says space is limited and narrow on the sidewalks. The ordinance would apply from 2nd Avenue Northwest to 1st Avenue Southeast.

More details emerged on Monday night for a proposed senior facility campus in St. Joseph. Country Manor, along with GLTA Archetects and Alliance Building Coorporation presented their plan for the facility during a planning commission meeting.

About 1,800 acres of St. Joseph Township land could soon be called Waite Park territory. During a work study session last (Monday) night city officials started planning the completion of a planned orderly annexation of remaining to section of St. Joseph Township.

After being in the community for 70 years, the El Paso building was torn down on Monday in St. Joseph. A Kwik Trip gas station will be moving into the location (200 2nd Avenue Northwest).

A groundbreaking ceremony was held for the new St. Joseph Government Center on Thursday morning. The more than18,000 square foot building will be just to the west of Colts Academy. The new Government Center will be a stand alone building with the potential to one day connect to Colts, which will eventually be converted into a community center.

St. Joseph is adding an economic development specialist to its city staff. The city recently hired Therese Haffner as a Community Development Director. City administrator Judy Weyrens says she will be starting on April 4th

A St. Joseph woman was severely hurt when she was attacked by two dogs on Monday afternoon. The Stearns County Sheriff's Office says 61-year-old Julie Lingl of St. Joseph was walking her small dog on the shoulder of the road, past a home.

St. Joseph is working to bring in a new senior facility, with construction expected to start this year. The proposed facility would have 60 independent living units and 24 units for memory care. Commercial features would include a rehabilitation center, hair salon, chapel and bistro.

A public meeting was held in St. Joseph Wednesday night to unveil and discuss possible plans for Kraemer Lake-Wildwood Park.

A new three-story retail and residential loft building is expected to arrive in downtown St. Joseph in November. What was formerly known as the "Bayou Alley Flats" in downtown St. Joseph has been renamed the "24 North Lofts on College Avenue".
