Work on a new parking ramp in downtown St. Cloud will begin in just a few weeks. One block of 5th Avenue North, between West St. Germain Street ant 1st Street North, will be closed to traffic starting April 1st. St. Cloud Mayor Dave Kleis says the 400-plus stall parking ramp will be built on the parking lot behind the Mexican Village and will go over 5th Avenue.

A traditional German Christmas Market known as a Weihnachtsmarkt is this Friday in downtown St. Cloud. Mayor Dave Kleis says they'll be serving a lot of traditional German foods and drinks.

St. Cloud has put up the "Help Wanted" sign. The city council has approved the budget for 2015, which includes the hiring of 10 new employees. Mayor Dave Kleis says the additional staff are needed, after years of belt-tightening.

The council then spent time going over design options during their study session.

Earlier this year the Minnesota State Legislature approved spending nearly $11.6 million in the bonding bill for a new parking ramp in downtown St. Cloud. Ground hasn't been broken on the project yet, but St. Cloud Mayor Dave Kleis says it is moving forward.

St. Cloud Mayor Dave Kleis wants to add 13 people to the city staff, including putting five more police officers on the street. Kleis laid out his city budget proposal for 2015 during this (Monday) evening's council meeting.
