Area families came out to Riverside Park Sunday to celebrate their Norwegian heritage at the 8th annual Sons of Norway Barnelopet.

The Vikings are on display at the Stearns History Museum in St. Cloud. Not the Minnesota Vikings - Norwegians. You Betcha! A new exhibit called "New Land, New Life: Norwegian Immigration in Minnesota 1825-1925" opens this Saturday.

Despite the expected cold weather, the Barnelopet will go on. The 6th annual Sons of Norway Barnelopet will be held on Sunday at St. Cloud's Riverside Park.

There's going to be a lot more Norwegians in town this weekend -- you betcha! The Sons of Norway is holding their District 1 convention at the St. Cloud Holiday Inn. It's a multi-state event with folks from as far away as Texas.

The snow has arrived, and now is the time to get your kids outside and on skis.
