Sartell-St. Stephen

A group of parents in the Sartell-St. Stephen school district have started a Facebook page with information about what's happening in the district. Spokeswoman Pam Raden says the group is called "Trans [parent] cy", and they formed their organization after the school board made the decision to eliminate spring break.

The Sartell-St. Stephen school district still has an opening on the board. Board members decided last (Monday) night not to appoint Gary Schnellert to a vacant seat.

The Sartell-St. Stephen school board has a new chairperson. During a special meeting last (Tuesday) night, the board unanimously elected Mary McCabe for the position.

The Sartell-St. Stephen school board will hold a special meeting tomorrow (Tuesday) night at 6:30 p.m. to elect a new chairperson. At the work study session immediately following the special meeting, the board also discuss the process of filling the school board seat left vacant due to the resignation of Julie Zupfer Anderson.

A new program will make it easier for Sartell-St. Stephen students to make healthy food choices. The Medica Foundation donated $30,000 to incorporate the NuVal scoring system in the ala carte and vending lines at the middle and high schools.

Enrollment is up for the St. Cloud metro area schools. For just the high schools, Sauk Rapid-Rice has passed Apollo making it the second largest high school in the metro behind Tech.
