Work could begin as soon as tomorrow on the four-lane expansion of Highway 23 between St. Cloud and Foley. The project was slated to start July 1st but Project Supervisor Rick Beckes says they had to wait to get contract approval. And, with the government shutdown those contracts sat idle.

It's back to work tomorrow for thousands of MnDOT workers now that the government shutdown is over. But, MnDOT's Kevin Gutknecht says the staffers will need to get up-to-speed on their paperwork and impending duties before you start seeing things get back to normal.

Be prepared for lane closures on Interstate 94 in Monticello tomorrow (Thursday). Crews will be doing preventive maintenance on I-94 bridges from Monticello to Highway 241. The process, called deck flushing, is a moving operation requiring lane closures.

We told you last week the West Metro Corridor project would stop if the state government shuts down. But, today Stearns County Highway Engineer Mitch Anderson told the county board they can't afford any delays in the project. He says they need to get it open to traffic by the scheduled date in November.
