Vikings running back Adrian Peterson admitted his reconstructed left knee was sore and somewhat painful days after the game Sunday but he has practiced in full the last 2 days and expects to play Sunday at Indianapolis. Peterson declared himself 95 percent healthy and expects to be back to 100 percent soon. Viking head coach Leslie Frazier stopped short of saying Peterson will get a full workload this Sunday.

Viking running back Adrian Peterson was a full participant in practice Wednesday. Peterson has not experienced pain or soreness to his reconstructed left knee. He had 17 carries for 84 yards and 2 touchdowns for the Vikings in their 26-23 overtime win over Jacksonville on Sunday. Peterson is expected to play this Sunday at Indianapolis but isn't expected to get the full workload.

The Vikings nearly gave away a game that appeared to be theirs with just seconds left when Blaine Gabbert threw a 39-yard touchdown pass to Cecil Shorts with :20 left. Viking quarterback Christian Ponder completed a pair of passes setting up kicker Blair Walsh for a 55-yard field goal. Walsh made the kick and made a 38-yard field goal in overtime that turned out to be the game-winner. Jacksonville got the ball once in overtime with the new overtime rule but were unable to score.

Viking running back Adrian Peterson appears closer to being able to play Sunday when the Vikings host Jacksonville in their season opener. Peterson has been listed as limited in practice Wednesday and Thursday but declared himself ready to play. Offensive Coordinator Bill Musgrave says they are trying to determine the amount of touches Peterson will have if he plays. AM 1500-ESPN is reporting that Peterson will get 5-10 touches Sunday.

Viking head coach Leslie Frazier says if Peterson does play it will be with limited exposure. Frazier says a decision on Peterson could go all the way up to game-time. Peterson has been working his way back from a torn ACL and MCL in his left knee. Peterson sustained the injuries against Washington on December 24 of 2011.

The Vikings cut their roster from 75 to 53 Friday night. Among the cuts are quarterback Sage Rosenfels, receiver Emanuel Arceneaux, cornerback Chris Carr, offensive lineman Chris DeGeare, and running back Jordan Todman. The Vikings elected to keep McLeod Bethel-Thompson to be third quarterback and Joe Webb will be the backup to Christian Ponder.

The Vikings lost their final preseason game 28-24 at Houston Thursday night. Some players made strong cases to make the Viking final roster including receiver Jarius Wright and running back Jordan Todman. Wright led the Vikings with 6 catches for 122 yards and a touchdown. Todman carried the ball 10 times for 114 yards including a 76-yard touchdown run. Devin Aromoshodu is also on the bubble to make the team. He had 5 catches for 89 yards.
