Minnesota's highest elected federal officials were all in St. Cloud Saturday to meet with community leaders and workers impacted by the announced closure of the Electrolux plant.
Electrolux announced Tuesday they are planning to close their plant here in St. Cloud. The freezer maker says production is expected to continue through the end of 2019.
Electrolux in St. Cloud has announced that, due to issues beyond their control, production has been cancelled for Line 1 - Department 22 - for the first shift today (Friday).
Electrolux says it plans to cut global costs by about $770 million a year. They say they'll review staffing levels in all regions, however we don't know yet how that will affect the plant here in St. Cloud.
