After a broken sewage pipe caused headaches for drivers and residents last month, Sartell officials are weighing in on a backup plan. During tonight's (Monday) city council meeting, staff recommended the city add a backup pipe to the Main Lift Station near Heim Bridge along County Road 1.

Pickleball games may soon be played in one Sartell park. The city is looking at converting the basketball and tennis courts at Val Smith park into four or six pickleball courts.

The Minneapolis City Council has voted to ban plastic bags at store checkouts. The council voted 10-3 Friday for the ban and to impose a 5-cent fee on each paper bag, exempting people getting government food benefits from the fee.

With a lack of space inside the public works facility, the Waite Park city council is looking at constructing a new building. During this (Thursday) morning's work session the council looked over design options for the proposed building. Public Works Director Bill Schluenz says a new facility has been in discussion for the last seventeen years.

Questions were answered as residents of the Tri-County Mobile Home park voiced their concerns of the parks closing and what's in store for their futures. A public hearing was held tonight (Monday) for the anticipated closure of the mobile home park, and the impact the parks closing would have on the displaced residents.

Residents of a Waite Park mobile home park could be a step closer to some financial support when it comes to relocating. During tonight's (Monday) city council meeting, the council will look to approve a trust fund account to help pay for some of the relocation costs involving the proposed two-hotel and conference center.

The vision for the proposed Waite Park amphitheater project continues to move forward. During tonight's (Monday) city council meeting, the council approved hiring Oertel Architects of St. Paul to develop a concept plan for the project.
