Cathedral Hockey

The Cathedral hockey team captured the Class A State Consolation boys hockey title Saturday with a 4-1 win over Alexandria at Mariucci Arena in Minneapolis. Cathedral fell behind 1-0 in the 1st period but scored 4 straight to earn the win.

Cathedral Activities Director Emmett Keenan has announced the hiring of 2010 Cathedral graduate Robbie Stocker as its new head boys hockey coach. He is also a Social Studies teach at Cathedral. He previously has served as an assistant coach at both Delano and Cathedral.

Cathedral is headed to the State A State Championship game after posting a 5-2 win over East Grand Forks at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul today. Jack Smith scored twice for the Crusaders.

The Cathedral hockey team downed East Grand Forks 5-3 last Wednesday night to advance to the Class A State Tournament Semifinals. The Crusaders led 2-1 after 1 period and 4-3 after 2 periods.
