ST. CLOUD -- The St. Cloud Salvation Army is getting new leaders after Majors Manuel and JoAnn Madrid retire. The Madrid's have both been with the Salvation Army for more than 40 years and heading into mandatory retirement.

Major Manuel Madrid says he has mixed feelings about leaving because St. Cloud was the number-one appointment in all his years.

But, he says while they have expanded their capacity and added more space for homeless families, there is much work left.

The new Majors are Steven and Melody Koehler. They come to St. Cloud from the Salvation Army in St. Charles, Illinois and start their job here in St. Cloud Wednesday.

The Madrid's last day will be Sunday.

There will be an open house on Sunday for the Madrid's.  It will be from 12:30 - 3:30 p.m. at the Salvation Army on Highway 10.  A picnic lunch will be served.
