Schleper Family to Attend Olympics Despite Security Concerns

ST. CLOUD -- As the Olympic Games get closer, news reports are emerging about potential security risks in Sochi. The reports have prompted some athletes to instruct their families members to stay away from the 22nd Winter Games.

St. Cloud native Anne Schleper is a member of the USA women's hockey team. Her dad Jim Schleper says he and his wife and son are going to the games and there was never any second thoughts.  He says they aren't going to miss out on a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Schleper says they are taking any precautions they can, like registering their information with the State Department. But, he says there haven't been any directives issued by USA Hockey or the USA Olympic Committee.

Schleper says they'll be in Sochi for the opening ceremonies February 6th.
