
Sauk Rapids Hosting Informational Meetings On Half Cent Sales Tax
SAUK RAPIDS - Sauk Rapids residents can learn more about a plan to extend the half cent sales tax.
Public information meetings will be held from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. and from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. today (Monday) in the Community Room of the Sauk Rapids Government Center. And also on Thursday, July 31st from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
All six of the St. Cloud metro area cities will have questions on the November ballot asking their residents to extend the half-cent sales tax. If it's approved, it's project to raise over $291 million over 20 years. The current half-cent sales tax has been in place since 2005, and is scheduled to expire in 2018.
