MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Rep. Michele Bachmann is the latest Republican to be targeted by a glitter-throwing protester.

The congresswoman had just finished a speech Saturday at the RightOnline conference in Minneapolis. As she walked off the stage, a woman approached and flung glitter toward her, shouting, "You can run but you can't hide."

The Minneapolis Star Tribune says Bachmann ignored her and kept walking as security hustled the protester away.

In a news release, gay-rights activist Rachel E.B. Lang identified herself as the demonstrator. She said she was protesting Bachmann's "hateful and anti-gay rhetoric."

A message left at Bachmann's congressional office Saturday was not immediately returned.

GOP presidential candidate Newt Gingrich and former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty were also hit with glitter or confetti at public events in the last month.
