Our Wet Summer Continues
ST. CLOUD - We received an official rainfall total of 1.66" of rain yesterday (Tuesday) at the St. Cloud Regional Airport. That gives us just over 4 1/2 inches of rain now for the month of August.
We're more than 2 1/2 inches above normal for the month, and about 3 3/4 inches above normal since June 1st.
Area rainfall totals since June 1st:
Twin Cities - 13.38"
St. Cloud - 13.04"
Duluth - 12.98"
Sioux Falls - 10.38"
Grand Forks - 10.25"
Rochester - 9.61"
International Falls - 7.63"
According to St. Cloud State University, the wettest summer every in St. Cloud was 22 inches of rain in 1897. We have to get to 16.2 inches to crack the list of Top 10 wettest summers ever.
