Man Indicted In Deadly Shooting Over Photos
HASTINGS (AP) - An eastern Minnesota man has been indicted in a deadly shooting that prosecutors say was sparked by an argument over Facebook photos.
A grand jury in Dakota County indicted 46-year-old Robert Thomas on second-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter. A criminal complaint says Thomas invited some friends over to watch the Minnesota Vikings-Green Bay Packers game in January, including the victim, 38-year-old James Koenig.
Prosecutors say Koenig wanted Thomas' 13-year-old son to take pictures of him with his shirt off so he could post them on Facebook.
Thomas says he asked Koenig to leave, threatened him with a gun and shot him when he came after him.
Thomas is scheduled in court March 7.
