LONG PRAIRIE -- A long time family drive-in movie theatre re-opened this weekend after being closed for several months.

The Long Drive-In in Long Prairie was closed for most of the summer after suffering damage to it's projection screen in a storm.

Owners Dan and Michelle Claseman have been running the theatre for the last five years, after buying it from her mother. She says everything went smoothly and customers were excited to be back.

"It went really well. We had a great crowd Friday and Saturday. Screen looked awesome and it was great to have everybody back."

She says they were trying to be open earlier, however the rebuild took longer than anticipated.

Dan says while they took a hit financially for this year, he believes they will come back stronger next season.

"The one thing we were afraid of was if we were going to be financially down for next year. But I think a lot of people missed it and I think next year will be stronger for us."

This coming week they will host their 4th Annual Truck or Treat event, showing featured films Hotel Transylvania and Monster House.

They would like to thank the community for all their support in keeping the business going.
