Our flag is very recognizable, 50 white stars on a blue background in the upper left-hand corner representing the states, and the 13 red and white stripes that cover the rest of the flag that represent the original colonies.

And we see the American Flag in a number of public locations, as well as on people’s houses. But over the last few years, there have been different colored American Flags popping up.

Do you know what they all mean? Here’s a breakdown from Anley, who makes flags, they say there’s a category of flags called “The Thin Line” that is black and white that features a thin colored line on it, the colored line signifies people with a certain job.

The same flag with a thin silver line is for Corrections Officers.

The flag with the thin green line is for Federal Officers, Border Patrol Agents and Park Rangers.

There have been other different colored American Flags that have been spotted as well that have people questioning their meaning.

A Black Flag with just white stars and stripes could have a couple of meanings. One of which is determination, no surrender. Another meaning could mean mourning.

The flags that look like the American Flag but are all red are said to have a couple meanings. In battle some say this means the unit flying it is out to destroy everything in its way. For those flying them on their homes, there is a belief that this signifies the blood that was shed in battle.

There are many who debate using different colored flags to represent the United States, for some they don’t like seeing anything other than the normal American Flag.

The one thing that rings true is that the country the flags represent and the freedoms we have here afford people to make the choice they’re most comfortable with.
