Fraternity Members to Shave Their Heads to Support Breast Cancer Research [AUDIO]
ST. CLOUD -- Delta Sigma Phi is showing their support for those fighting breast cancer tonight with the Shave for the Cure fundraiser.
Members of the fraternity will shave their pink hair for every amount they raise.
Graduate Student and Delta Sig member Chris Rogers is the organizer of the event. He says they wanted to do something to show their support for women.
Rogers says faculty have also volunteered to shave their heads, including interim director of the Center for International Studies Margaret Vos, who is fighting her own battle.
Delta Sig will also hold a silent auction to help raise their $20,000 goal that will go to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Minnesota foundation and the Coborns Cancer Center.
The event is open to the public and Rogers says anyone can shave or dye their hair to support the cause.
The Shave for the Cure event goes from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. in the Atwood Memorial Center ballroom.
