FERGUS FALLS -- Four Fergus Falls Police Officers, including the Police Chief, have been placed on administrative league pending an investigation by the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension involving the shooting death of a man near Fergus Falls.

The Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office received a call from a woman who said her estranged husband was shooting at her car on I-94 early yesterday (Sunday) morning.

Deputies, police officers, state troopers and a state patrol helicopter found the man in a field about a half mile from the interstate.

The B-C-A says the man had a shotgun and was ignoring orders from officers to drop the gun.

The man then pointed the gun at the officers. Three of them fired and the man dropped to the ground. He died at the scene.
