ST. CLOUD - The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Sauk River affecting Stearns County.

The warning will start on Tuesday evening until further notice. The warning has been issued thanks to 3-6 inches of rain over the last 24 hours, with another 1/2-1 inch of rain expected over the next 24 hours.

As of 9:15 a.m. on Sunday, the stage was at 5 feet. Flood stage is at 6 feet. The forecast calls for a rise above the flood stage by Tuesday evening that will continue to rise to 6.5 feet by Thursday afternoon.
