IN THE MIDDLE OF RURAL MINNESOTA

The Veit Museum near Buffalo, Minnesota is not just ANY museum; it's a museum created out of a passion for one man's love of vintage cars.

The large red and white barn is the home to a collection of the most classic cars ever built; and not just a few cars. There are wall-to-wall beautiful classic cars that every car lover out there should take the time to visit.

NOTHING LIKE THIS

Vaughn Veit, owner of the barn says, "Some people are in awe...it's because there are a lot of car museums, but there are none like this."

Vaughn stores his cars and others on a 500-acre piece of land near Buffalo, Mn. "Every one is a little different. No two are the same," Vaughn said.

VEIT  AUTOMOTIVE FOUNDATION

Vaughn started the Veit Automotive Foundation 25 years ago when he noticed there were so many people selling off their classic vehicles as they aged. He didn't want that to happen to the cars that he's collected for such a long time.

HIS FIRST EVER

I found it interesting that Vaughn still has the very first vehicle he ever owned. He sold it at one time, and then bought it back and restored it. It is still his favorite a '33 Ford...one of the approximately 100 vehicles he has on site.

Cars are not the only thing you will find when you visit the Veit Museum. There are also collectible signs, gas pumps, bikes, and pedal cars.

THE BUILDINGS

The buildings are also quite interesting in and of themselves, being built with posts from a mill in Connecticut, and reused flooring from a tobacco barn in Kentucky.

One of the most impressive vehicles he has on display is a Duesenberg which sold for $30,000 in 1930. They went 120 miles an hour.  According to the story, there were only about 100 of them built, and Vaughn says the one he has would sell for well over 3 Million today.

“Pictures do not do it justice. It’s a feeling that you get here, and people leave with huge smiles on their faces, said Kari Heinzmann, from the Veit Automotive Foundation and Museum.
