The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for parts of central Minnesota - including Stearns and Benton County. It will be in effect from 10:00 p.m. this (Friday) evening through midnight on Saturday.
Even though the snow as moved off to our east, the National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for our area until 6:00 p.m. tonight (Tuesday).
If the forecast is correct, we could be looking at record snowfall totals for the month. According to the National Weather Service, we've had 15.3 inches of snow in St. Cloud so far this month.
A major winter storm is expected to affect a large part of the upper Midwest on Sunday, dropping some of the heaviest snow totals here in Central Minnesota. The timing of the snowfall will be overnight tonight and through much of the day on Sunday.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for parts of Central Minnesota until 3:00 a.m. Monday. A low pressure system will pass by overnight bringing accumulating snow.
We finally got some measurable snow yesterday (Friday). We officially received 2.1 inches of snow in St. Cloud. That brings us to 19.6 inches since December 1st, which is about one-and-a-half inches above normal.
