Cathedral Golf Finishes 7th; Hamak 3rd
The Cathedral boys golf team finished in 7th place in the Class AA state meet in the Ridges at Sand Creek in Jordan. Holy Family won the team event with Detroit Lakes finishing in 2nd place. In the individual competition Cathedral's Will Freeman finished in 11th place.
Rox Split Day/Night Doubleheader
The Rox lost 12-3 to Mankato in the afternoon and won 1-0 over Mankato in the rain shortened nightcap. The Moon Dogs jumped all over Rox starter Richie Holetz for 6 hits and 7 earned runs in just 1 inning. Holetz took the loss. Frank Achecar had 2 hits and 1 RBI for the Rox in game 1.
Foley Baseball is in Pursuit of a State Title [PODCAST]
Foley baseball is headed to the state tournament for the first time in school history. Foley won the Section 6AA title last week needing a pair of 5-4 wins over Pierz in the section final in St. Cloud to capture the championship. The Falcons were the #1 seed in the section and are 24-3.
Vikings Extend Rudolph
The Vikings reportedly have agreed to a 4-year $36 Million contract extension with tight end Kyle Rudolph. The 29-year old has 386 catches for 3,787 yards and 41 touchdowns in 8 NFL seasons. He was selected the 2nd round of the 2011 NFL draft.
