Ten Minnesota football players suspended in December for their alleged involvement in a sexual assault on campus will appear before a panel of university employees on Thursday and Friday in an attempt to avoid the expulsions and other punishments recommended by the school's Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action office.

Minnesota falls to 15-3 overall and 3-2 in the Big Ten Conference with the loss. The Gophers will play at Penn State on Saturday morning.

The status of Minnesota coach Tracy Claeys will soon be addressed by athletic director Mark Coyle in the aftermath of sexual assault allegations and a brief team boycott after 10 players were suspended for the bowl game.
