CHASKA, Minn. (AP) - Prosecutors have charged two men in the killing of a 90-year-old man who was robbed in his Carver County home last month.

Thirty-five-year-old Reinol Godines Gergara, of Richfield, was charged Wednesday with two counts of second-degree murder, while 29-year-old Edson Celin-Dominguez Benitez, of St. Paul, was charged with two counts of aiding and abetting second-degree murder.

Earl Olander was found dead in his San Francisco Township home April 11.

The criminal complaints say Vergara knew Olander because he had painted his house. He told police he knew Olander would be an easy target because he lived alone and had money.

A citizen found savings bonds issued to Olander while he was cleaning out Benitez's former apartment and called police Saturday.

The defendants' attorneys did not immediately return calls seeking comment.
