St. Cloud Mother Sentenced In 2010 Murder Of Child

ST. CLOUD -- A Stearns County judge has sentenced a St. Cloud woman to 12-and-a-half years in prison for killing her young child last April.

32-year-old Nyachoul Puoch earlier pleaded guilty to one count of second degree murder in exchange for a sentence that was less than the maximum.

Puoch admitted to using a shoe to beat her 22-month-old son because he wouldn't stop crying. The boy was taken to St. Cloud Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Stearns County Attorney's Office says Puoch also agreed to involuntary termination of her parental rights on three other children.
