ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - The prosecution has called its last witness in the murder trial of a St. Paul man accused of killing his wife.

Retired St. Paul Police Sgt. John Wright interviewed Jeffery Trevino twice. Trevino is charged with second-degree murder in the death of his wife, 30-year-old Kira Steger (STEG'-ur). Steger disappeared in February, and her body was recovered from the Mississippi River in May.

Wright testified Steger told Trevino the weekend before she went missing she was going out with friends. Witnesses say Steger stayed over at the home of a co-worker she was having an affair with.

Wright also says when police interviewed Trevino he asked them twice what he should do with his wife's belongings.

Reports say it's unclear if Trevino's attorney will call any witnesses.
