ST. CLOUD - Pioneer Place Theatre presents their fifth installment of their 'Laughing All The Way Series'. Written by Dan Barth, Raine Hakan, and Jay Terry, 'Laughing All The Way V: The Miracle on Fifth Avenue' follows the KLAF television studio as they attempt their first ever toy drive. Barth says the whole theme turns out to be a whole lot of fun.

The theme behind this one is the players at the KLAF television station are trying to host their first ever toy drive. As you can imagine, in typical 'Laughing All The Way' fashion, things don’t go as planned. So it's certainly going to take a miracle on fifth to pull this off.

Writers Barth, Hakan, and Terry have been working on the series together since day one. Barth says writing for 'Laughing All The Way' is a year long process. It starts in February, runs through the summer with rough sketches, and starts to get finalized as fall comes around. According to Barth, writing the play is half the fun.

It's truly a collaborative effort. We do a lot of brainstorming, a lot of white board with markers, and most of all we do a lot of acting and a lot of stand up and that type of stuff to see if we can make each other laugh and get some things to stick. It's really a fun process.

'Laughing All The Way' has become a tradition at the Pioneer Place Theatre. Barth says working on this years play has already sparked ideas for next year.

It typically happens that way which is a lot of fun. While we're working on the show that's going to go up on Friday (today), we already got ideas for next year's show. It doesn't show signs of stopping to quote the Jingle Bells line there.

'Laughing All The Way V' hits the stage for eighteen shows this year. Tickets are $26 for adults, and $22 for students/seniors.
