Deputy Delivers Baby in Sherburne County
ELK RIVER – It was a quick delivery for an Elk River woman and her new baby this (Thursday) morning.
A Sherburne County Sheriff’s Deputy helped deliver Kelli Mitchell’s baby along the side of the road.
Shortly before 8:00 a.m. they got a 911 call from Mitchell, who was on her way to the hospital in Monticello. She pulled over at the intersection of County Roads 14 and 30 in Big Lake Township, and was met by Deputy Aaron Sturm. By 8:07 a.m. the newborn had arrived.
Paramedics then came and brought mother and child to the hospital, where they are both doing well.
