Is there a potential National Spelling Bee champion in the St. Cloud area? The first step in answering that question will happen today at the Regional Spelling Bee for Central MN. It's being held in the Science Auditorium building at St. John's University.

Due to a high number of participating students, the bee has been split into 2 different competitions. The first is at 9:00 a.m., and the second at 1:00 p.m.

The top two spellers from each bee will advance to the Multi-regional State Spelling Bee on Tuesday, March 8th in Fergus Falls, and the winner of that competition will go on to compete for the national title in Washington DC.
