ST. CLOUD -- Hundreds are flocking to River's Edge Convention Center this weekend to find that one of a kind piece for their home.

The "Junk Junktion" featuring repurposed, rusty, shabby, retro, vintage, industrial home decor items kicked off Friday and goes through Saturday.

The event is being hosted by Modern Barnyard. Modern Barnyard owner Jim Beck wants to be clear this is not a craft show.

"It's great that people can make things but we didn't want it to be just a bunch of flowers put in a vase. We wanted it to be something that was actually true to the vintage market so we didn't allow a lot of new things. People had to make sure they were bringing things that were really vintage or old or antiques."

Beck says if you really want to make your space unique, you have no shortage of options to choose from at the Junk Junktion.

"We've got everything for antiques, to repurposed to rusty junk."

If you can't make it to the event, Beck says you can always stop by Modern Barnyard where they have similar decor and furniture.

Modern Barnyard opened last spring on County Road 75 in Waite Park.

Tickets to the Junk Junktion are $10 at the door. The event runs until 5:00 p.m. Friday and 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Saturday.

On Friday’s during the News at Noon Show, WJON Reporter Chrissy Gaetke travels around the St. Cloud metro area to highlight local celebrations, businesses and charity events. Do you have a suggestion of where she should go? Email
