I love fruits. Apples, oranges, bananas, grapes and especially blueberries. I’ve been eating blueberries lately like they’re going out of style. By themselves, in my cereal, even in a salad, I’ve gotten creative lately with how I eat them.

If you’re like me and you enjoy blueberries, you’ll likely want to know about this weekend's festival in Lake George. It’s the 40th annual Blueberry Festival, this Friday through Sunday.

Friday’s event kicks off with the blueberry pie and ice cream social at Trinity Lutheran Church from 6:30-9:00. Also on Friday night, there will be a Gospel Music concert Lake George Bible Chapel.  

On Saturday, the annual blueberry 5k run/walk through the pines will start at 8am. If you want to participate, registration starts at 7:30.  

The annual Blueberry Festival bake sale starts at 9am at Trinity Lutheran Church and will go until they sell everything they have. The church will also have their food stand at Lake George Community Park from 11am-2pm.  

At noon at the community park, the “Back to Lake George” Car Show will be held from 12-3.  

For those who like to compete, you should try your luck in the bean bag tournament which will begin at 12:30. Registration will start at noon. The payout for first place is $100.  

Between 1 & 3, there are events for the kids and kids at heart. The senior center in Lake George will host bingo during that time. The kids will want to check out the kid's carnival at the town hall. There will be a free bike given away at 3pm. 

From 4-6:30, it's the annual “Fireman’s Bean Feed” at the Lake George Firehall. There will be a raffle at 6:30.  

Then live music wraps up the festivities with “The Snowmen” playing from 8 until midnight at The Woodlands.

On Sunday, wake up hungry, the annual Blueberry Feed will be held at the firehall from 7am-11am.  

The kids can burn off the food they ate at the kids pedal tractor pull will be held at 11. Registration starts at 10:30 and the event will be held in front of Tin Lizzy Antiques. This event will be open to kids ages 3-11.

There will be a horseshoe contest starting at 12:30 at the community park. Registration starts at Noon at the community park. 

The 40th annual blueberry festival wraps up with the tug of war in the community park at 2:30.  

If you love blueberries, Lake George will be the place for you this weekend. Try to carve out some time to check it out, your tastebuds will thank you for it.
