What Central Minnesota City Has The Best Tasting Water?

WHOSE GOT THE BEST WATER IN CENTRAL MINNESOTA?

Some Minnesota cities recently competed in a 'Best Water' tasting competition here in Minnesota during the American Water Works Association Minnesota Chapter conference in Duluth this week.

WHAT DOES GREAT WATER TASTE LIKE?

What do you think great water tastes like? That's a tough question, right? Good water to me has no aftertaste, no taste; really,  but feels good in the mouth; how else do you describe the taste of water?  Something that's delicious and quenches your thirst, that you could drink hot or cold?

The drinking water in St. Cloud tastes like it has been 'cleaned.'The best water I've ever had in my entire life was from my Grandma's house when I was a kid.  There is something about water that you drink sometimes that doesn't necessarily have a 'taste' that you can put your finger on; you just know when you like it or not.

COMPETING CITIES

Cities that entered the competition brought tap water samples and competed in a blind taste test.

A panel of judges, made up of water industry professionals, placed their votes for 'Best in Glass."

The top four finishers included:

• Owatonna
• St. Peter
• Bloomington
• Moorhead

STATE FAIR WINNER

Moorhead Public Service was the winner of the Minnesota State Fair Tap Water Taste Test 2024.

In Duluth, Bloomington turned the tables. Bloomington came in first place.

Bloomington has won the title in the past. The last time they won the best water competition was in 2016.

What happens next? Bloomington will now be competing in the International American Water Works Association "Best in Glass" competition taking place in Denver next June 2025.
