NFL Suspends 4 Saints Players For Bounties
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has handed down suspensions to 4 players who were involved in the New Orleans Saints bounty incident. The 4 include linebackers Jonathan Vilma and Scott Fujita, and defensive lineman Anthony Hargrove and Will Smith. Vilma gets the harshest suspension. He is suspended for the entire 2012 season. He reportedly said prior to the Vikings/Saints NFL championship game in 2010 that the person who knocks quarterback Brett Favre out of the game will get $10,000.

The Twins lost 4-0 in Anaheim to the L.A. Angels Tuesday night. Jerome Williams threw the complete-game 3-hit shutout to get the win. Francisco Liriano threw 5 1/3 innings with 7 hits and 4 earned runs allowed to take the loss and drop to 0-4. Torii Hunter was 2-2 with a homerun and 2 RBIs and Howie Kendrick was 3-4 with a solo homerun for the Angels. Denard Span had 2 of the 3 hits for the Twins.

Twins' first baseman Justin Morneau saw a specialist Tuesday to take a look at his sore left wrist. An MRI showed no structural damage just some fluid and inflammation. Morneau is expected to rejoin the team in Anaheim today and could return to the lineup as early as Friday night when the Twins play at Seattle.

Tornado warnings were issued for Stearns, Benton and Sherburne Counties on Tuesday afternoon and evening. A trained spotter reported a tornado on the ground in western Stearns County near Brooten. There were also several reports of funnel clouds throughout the area.

NFL teams look to improve with the NFL draft but sometimes after the draft teams really make big steps if they identify and top sign undrafted free agents. The Vikings signed 16 undrafted free agents after selecting 10 players in the draft. Inside linebacker Tyler Nielsen of Iowa, defensive tackle Tydreke Powell and center Quentin Saulsberry appear to be the best chances to make the Vikings roster in late August. NFL network's Mike Mayock raves but the sleeper posibilities of Nielsen.

An update for you on the Sprint cell phone outage. Waite Park Sprint Store Manager Jessica Ruprecht says the the problems have been fixed and service was restored at about 11:45 a.m. this (Tuesday) morning.

The Twins lost 4-3 in Anaheim to the Los Angeles Angels Monday night. Minnesota fell behind 4-0 before scoring 3 runs in the 8th inning but they came up short. Alexi Casilla went 3-4 with a run scored, 1 RBI and 2 stolen bases and Danny Valencia was 2-4 with 1 RBI for the Twins. Nick Blackburn threw 6 innings with 7 hits and 3 earned runs allowed to take the loss and drop to 0-3. C.J. Wilson threw 7 1/3 innings with 5 hits and 3 earned runs allowed to get the win. Former Twin Torii Hunter hit a 2-run homerun for the Angels.

Nick Maiers threw 6 innings with 8 hits and 5 earned runs allowed to get the win. Steve Rindelaub went 3-3 with a run scored and 3 RBIs and Brian Hansen went 2-4 with 2 RBIs for the Huskies.
