St. Cloud Rox Start 2012 Season Wednesday
The St. Cloud Rox begin the 2012 season Wednesday night in Duluth against the Huskies at 7:35pm, pregame on AM 1390-the Fan at 7:05. The St. Cloud Northwoods League team has new ownership and a new name this season. Gary Posch and Joe Sexton are the new owners while the Rox are the new name replacing the River Bats. The Rox coaches arrived last week including field manager Augie Rodriguez and assistant coach Anthony Espitia.

The Twins defeated the Oakland A's 5-4 Monday afternoon to end their 5-game losing streak. Minnesota scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 8th inning to come from down 4-3 to win. Justin Morneau singled in the tying run before Ryan Doumit's sacrifice fly scored Josh Willingham from 3rd base to put the Twins ahead. Matt Capps allowed 2 base runners but converted the save. He blew a save the day before against Detroit.

The Twins have lost 4 games in a row after falling 6-3 at Target Field to the Detroit Tigers Saturday afternoon. Carl Pavano was touched up for 10 hits and 6 earned runs in 4 1/3 innings to take the loss and drop to 2-4 this season. Pavano gave up 6 straight hits in the 4-run Detroit 4th inning. Justin Morneau and Denard Span each hit solo homeruns and Span added a double. Ben Revere had 3 hits for the Twins.
