The St. Cloud Rox lost 7-5 Sunday night at Willmar to suffer their 8th straight loss. The game was shortened to 5 innings due to rain. Willmar scored 6 runs in the 3rd inning and St. Cloud responded with 4 runs in the 4th inning. Carlos Lopez went 2-2 with 2 runs scored, Mark Rhine went 2-2 and Boo Vazquez was 1-2 with 2 RBIs for the Rox. Paul Schaak threw 3 innings with 6 hits and 7 earned runs allowed to take the loss.

Keaton Siomkin allowed 6 hits and 8 runs (6 earned) in 2 1/3 innings to take the loss for the Moon Dogs. Erik Kozel was 2-2 with a run scored and 2 RBIs and Adam Martin had 2 RBIs for the Rox.

The Twins lost 5-3 at home to Milwaukee Friday night to drop their 3rd straight game. Matt Capps allowed a 2-run homerun to Martin Maldonado in the 9th inning to break the 3-all tie. Trevor Plouffe was 2-4 with 2 solo homeruns to increase his homerun total to 14 this season. Brian Dozier added 3 hits for the Twins. Francisco Liriano allowed 3 earned runs in 6 innings and didn't figure in the final decision.

The first game began with no score in the bottom of the 4th inning to complete the suspended game from Thursday night. Mankato won that game 3-0. Phil Imholte had 2 of the five St. Cloud hits and Ben Meyer allowed 3 runs in 5 innings to take the loss.

Cathedral scored 4 runs in the top of the 9th inning to beat Proctor 9-8 in 9 innings in the Class 2A state tournament semifinals at Dick Putz Field Friday afternoon. Proctor scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 9th inning but couldn't pull out the win. Brian Minks had 3 hits and 2 RBIs and Mike Kerber had 2 hits and 3 runs scored for the Crusaders. Eric Pelant threw the final 1 2/3 innings to get the win.

The St. Cloud Rox followed the storms to Mankato and rain plus storms caused the game Thursday night to be suspended with the game tied at 4 apiece going to the bottom of the 4th inning. The game will be picked up right where they left off at 6:05 in Mankato tonight, coverage beginning on AM 1390-the Fan at 5:35. The two teams will play a 7-inning game immediately following tonight's suspended game.

The Cathedral baseball team defeated Delano 5-0 Thursday night to advance to the Class AA state tournament semifinals against Proctor today at 2:30, pregame on AM 1390-the Fan at 2:25. The Crusaders scored all 5 of their runs in the 2nd inning. Eric Pelant threw a complete-game 4-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts to get the win for the Crusaders. Mike Kerber and Matt Dodge each had 2 hits for the Crusaders and Jeff Facshing had 2 RBIs.
