Competitors in the Can-Am Police-Fire Games put down their guns and hoses on Wednesday afternoon and picked-up their pots and pans for the Chili Cook-Off. There were nine teams in the event, mostly from Central Minnesota.

The Minnesota Wild Road Tour will be stopping in St. Cloud today from 11am-1pm at the MAC. Current Wild players Nate Prosser and Jason Zucker and the radio broadcast team of Bob Kurtz and Tom Reid will be on hand for the event. The group will sign autographs and meet the public. People can play the interactive game chuck a puck at the event. The Granite City Cafe with Jay Caldwell and Lee Voss will broadcast live at the event from noon-2 today.

The Chicago White Sox downed the Minnesota Twins 3-2 Tuesday night. Gavin Floyd threw 7 shutout innings with 5 hits allowed and 9 strikeouts to get the win. Jamey Carroll had a 2-run single in Minnesota's 2-run 9th inning but Denard Span grounded out to 2nd base to end the game. Liam Hendriks thew 6 1/3 innings with 5 hits and 3 earned runs allowed to take the loss and drop to 0-5. Alex Rios hit a 2-run homerun off Hendriks.

The St. Cloud Rox snapped a 14-game losing streak with a 3-2 win over Thunder Bay at Joe Faber Field Tuesday night. Alex Roberts threw 2 scoreless innings with 4 strikeouts to earn the win in relief. Adam Maxon threw a scoreless 9th inning to grab the save. St. Cloud came from down 2-0 with Jamie Simpson scoring the go-ahead run in the 8th inning on a wild pitch. Andy Henkemeyer was 3-4 with 1 RBI and Erik Kozel went 2-4 with a solo homerun and 2 runs scored for the Rox.

The Timberwolves acquired small forward Chase Budinger and prospect Lior Eliyahu from Houston for the 18th overall pick in this week's NBA draft. Buddinger is a 6'7 218 pound forward who averaged 9.6 points a game in 2010-2011 while playing for the Rockets. Budinger played for now head coach Rick Adelman for 2 seasons and is just 24 years old. Eliyahu is a 6'9 225 pound prospect who hasn't played in the NBA but will play for the Wolves summer league team in Las Vegas. Eliyahu played Spain and Israel.
