The Twins defeated Detroit 6-4 Monday night to win their 4th game in a row. Minnesota scored 4 runs in the 4th inning and added 2 more runs in the 5th inning. Ryan Doumit was 3-3 with 1 RBI, Brian Dozier went 3-5 and Trevor Plouffe had a 2-run single for the Twins. Ben Revere added 2 hits, 2 runs scored and 1 RBI for Minnesota.

Duluth completed a sweep of the St. Cloud Rox Monday night winning 14-4 and 7-6 in 8 innings.

The Joetown Rocks celebration starts tonight (Tuesday) in St. Joseph. The event begins at 6:00 p.m. The band Liverpool Legends will take the stage at 7:30 p.m.

The Minnesota Wild have offered contracts to top free agents Zach Parise and Ryan Suter. Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher confirmed the offers yesterday but would go into more detail.

The American and National League All Stars were chosen Sunday and the lone Twins' representative is catcher Joe Mauer.

The Mankato Moon Dogs beat the St. Cloud Rox 9-3 in St. Cloud Sunday.

The Minnesota Lynx lost 93-84 at San Antonio Sunday afternoon. Minnesota never led in this game. Monica Wright led the Lynx with 18 points and Lindsay Whalen had 15 points with Rebekkah Brunson added 13 points and 10 rebounds. The Lynx shot 49 percent and San Antonio shot 48 percent. The Silver Stars made 13-25 from 3-point range.

Open Mic Night is getting to be quite the popular attraction to attend around the St. Cloud area.

The Minnesota continue to pursue free agent left wing Zach Parise and defenseman Ryan Suter but announced the signing of free agent center Zenon Konopka from Ottawa and center/right wing Torry Mitchell from San Jose. Konopka signs a 2-year deal worth $925,000 per season and Mitchell signs a 3-year contract worth $1.9 Million a season.

The Twins defeated Kansas City 10-8 Sunday afternoon to win 3 out of 4 against the Royals over the weekend. Minnesota came from down 5-1 to score 5 runs in the 6th inning to lead 6-5. Josh Willingham had a 3-run homerun and Trevor Plouffe homered twice for Minnesota. Drew Butera added a 3-run homerun in the 8th inning to boost the Twins to the win. Plouffe has a team leading 18 homeruns this season. Jeff Gray threw 1 inning of scoreless relief to get the win.
