Holdingford Daze continues today (Saturday). Events get underway at 8:00 a.m., with the Kiddie Parade and 12:45 p.m. and the big parade at 1:00 p.m.

The Twins activated closer Matt Capps from the 15-day disabled list Thursday and optioned relief pitcher Kyle Waldrop to triple-A Rochester. Capps has been rehabbing shoulder inflamation at single-A Fort Myers and triple-A Rochester.

The St. Cloud Rox lost 5-2 Thursday night in Willmar. Willmar went out to a 3-0 lead before St. Cloud got on the scoreboard and the Rox never led. Andrew Urban threw all 8 innings with 8 hits and 5 runs (3 earned) to take the loss for the Rox. Tony Skjefte and Andy Henkemeyer each had 2 hits for the Rox and Boo Vazquez was 1-3 with a run scored and 1 RBI.

Holdingford Daze are this weekend. Tonight's (Friday) schedule of events includes a Classic, Antique Car/Motorcycle show on main street. That runs from 5:00 until 10:00 p.m.

The Timberwolves have waived center Darko Milicic using the NBA Amnesty Clause. Milicic underachieved during his time with the Timberwolves and averaged 7.7 points and 4.8 rebounds a game in 2011-2012. His $7 Million salary figure does not count against the Wolves salary with this new clause. Milicic now goes through the waiver process where he could be claimed by any team.

Longtime Cathedral head baseball coach Bob Karn has been selected for induction into the Minnesota Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame. The Hall honors service to amateur baseball in Minnesota. Bob's induction has probably been delayed because he is the curator of the Hall of Fame in St. Cloud and would never allow himself to be nominated.

The Timberwolves continued their pursuit of restricted free agent small forward Nicolas Batum from Portland. The Wolves spent much of Wednesday trying to work out a sign and trade deal with Portland. Portland General Manager Neil Olshey says the Wolves don't have the value they are looking for in trade and would match any offer the Wolves put together in a offer sheet.

The St. Cloud Rox lost 4-3 at Willmar Wednesday night. Willmar broke the 3-all tie with a run in the 7th inning. Carlos Lopez went 2-3 with a homerun and 2 RBIs and Phil Imholte drove in a run for the Rox. Alex Roberts threw 1 1/3 innings with 4 hits and 1 earned run allowed to take the loss in relief. Tadd Johansen threw 5 innings with 7 hits and 3 earned runs allowed but didn't figure in the final decision.
